The Power of a Mobile Phone

Well! I got some time at a coffee shop and thought I could write something here!

Its not an excuse for the poor content or the poor grammar or lack of research in the content below. Notice how amazing it is that most of you did not think twice about what’s blogging got to do with a coffee shop, some of us assumed that I am online using a handheld device like a laptop or a phone and am leeching from the free wi-fi!

Go back a few years now.. would you think the same? Am not sure, unless you assumed that the coffee shop is owned by my dad or a friend and am writing, albeit using his desktop. At worst using the desktop they have in place at the cash counter. Some of us who can’t think as back would have imagined a cyber cafe close by… But the point here is this… Circa 2010, I am writing this on a handheld device a nice shiny blackberry, perpetually connected using a dedicate internet service. Its amazing….

If you analyze some of the greatest inventions of this human race, you will notice a trait that everything which made it easier for us to view, find, organize information on our fingertips has been successful. That hold good for the so called idiot box, to its naïve looking remote! and holds good for companies like Google as well!

The device I hold now also does the same thing.. Allows me to spam on FB, allows me to check my emails.. allows me to access content over the air and so on! Hey! it was supposed to be a phone! What we are seeing is an assimilation of devices. A phone that’s slowly doing all that a desktop computer could do, a mp3 player could do and more. Is this the end of its prowess? I don’t think so! Technology like mobile payments, micro blogging is now catching some speed even in a developing country like ours….
