Motorcycles, its been a while

Its been a while I have been off motorcycles.
The tiny place, between two wheels.
The only place where I have truly been.

Pinning the throttle, cheating death,
Living a life of renewed birth.

Perched, on a chunk of metal, with fossilised fuel,
Tiny explosions, lunging you,
Sometimes forward, sometimes side ways,
But all the times, moving ahead.

I saw arrivals, I saw good byes,
I saw the them come & go.
I saw it all, and some I yearned for more.

I saw places, people, and each other through their eyes.
I saw its discomforting truth, and comforting lies.

I rode through silence, and some through storms
I rode through cold questions, to find warmth.

It took me from where I was, to where I could be,
It took me to where I wished I’d rather be.

Sometimes, it took me no where too,
Sometimes, closer, sometimes away.

I learnt a lot, through my journey,
Remembered some, and some I forgot.
Some remained as mere stories.

Some roads were kind, some were cruel
Each taught me, turned me into a better fool.

Its been a while I have been off motorcycles.
The tiny place, between two wheels.
The only place where I have truly been.
